Does it feel a little chilly this weekend?

It’s not just you. Seattle is experiencing considerably lower than usual temperatures for this time of year, said Dustin Guy, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Seattle.

The forecast shows Sunday and Monday’s daytime temperatures in the low to mid-50s, with temperatures dropping to the low 40s at night. Saturday’s recorded high was 52 degrees.

Typically, the end of April gets up into the low 60s.

The weather service says to also expect intermittent showers for the next couple of days, and, maybe, thunderstorms, though there’s a pretty small chance you’ll hear the skies boom and crackle.

The rainfall was expected to add up to less than 0.1 inch on Saturday, and between 0.1 and 0.25 inch on Sunday.

Seattle is at about 85% of its normal rain total, the weather service said this week.

Los Angeles, San Francisco and even Portland have received more rain than Seattle this year.

While rain and winds sweep the Seattle area, the Cascade and Olympic mountains should see snowfall at elevations greater than 2,000 feet Sunday evening into Monday, the weather service said in a post on X.

Snoqualmie Pass is expected to see the most snow, with a forecast of 5 inches, followed by 4 inches for Stevens Pass.

The weather should look a little more springlike by the end of the week, with temperatures getting into the low 60s, the weather service says.
