The 2024 NFL draft is in the books, and in its wake are several young competitors who have yet to find out where, or if, their football careers will continue.

They are the undrafted free agents—the players who did not hear their names called in Detroit and did not receive the dream call from a coach or general manager letting them know they were being selected.

Who are some of these players and which NFL insiders have updates on where they are signing, with hopes of catching on with a practice squad and, maybe, stunning team officials into giving them a roster spot?

Find out with this look at three in particular.

Kedon Slovis, QB, BYU

Kedon Slovis may not have heard his name called during the draft but he has reportedly found an NFL home.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reported Slovis will sign with the Indianapolis Colts.

Formerly a freshman phenom for USC, Slovis completed 71.9 percent of his passes in his first season with the Trojans for 3,502 yards, 30 touchdowns and just nine interceptions. His play diminished throughout his college career, which saw a stop in Pitt before he arrived at BYU.

His completion percentage was never the same, and he never achieved more than 17 touchdowns in a single season, let alone coming anywhere close to the 30 from his freshman campaign.

Slovis has a strong pocket presence and will hang in there, taking a big hit if it means finding a receiver at the last second. He can pick apart any defense in a clean pocket, particularly in the short-to-medium range, where his accuracy is its deadliest.

Unfortunately for him, questions about his arm strength and what can best be described as an inability to play within himself sometimes lead to costly errors and mistakes.

There are pieces that head coach Shane Steichen can toy with and help develop, but it will be difficult for Slovis to catch on with last year's first-rounder, Anthony Richardson, and backup Sam Ehlinger, in front of him.

Drake Nugent, C, Michigan

Drake Nugent won a national title with the Michigan Wolverines and, while he saw his quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, go early in Round 1 to Minnesota, the center did not hear his name called.

It was somewhat surprising that, in a league where the importance of the offensive line cannot be understated, no team took a flier on Nugent.

Things reportedly worked out well enough for the big man, though, as the San Francisco 49ers are signing him as an undrafted free agent, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Nugent is initially explosively quick and aggressive, has quick feet and is persistent, sticking with his blocks until the last moment. He is undersized from a height perspective, however, and can be moved and exploited by opposing rushers.

With San Francisco, he will have time to sit and learn, if he makes the team, as part of one of the best and most consistently excellent franchises in the game.

Tyler Harrell, WR, Miami

Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reported that the New York Jets are signing University of Miami wide receiver Tyler Harrell.

Harrell is a speedy wide receiver who can stretch the field and benefits exponentially from a zone system. He is explosive off the line and is the sort of receiver who will be difficult to keep up with or catch in open space. The Miami native also has a penchant for the big-game situation, coming up huge for the Hurricanes more than once last season.

He does not have an abundance of experience, and his hands and route running need help before he can get on a field and be productive in an Aaron Rodgers-led offense.

With that said, if the Jets can develop him, Harrell has the opportunity to bring big plays to a Jets offense that struggled mightily on the offensive side of the ball in 2023 without Rodgers under center.
