SAN JOSE — One person was killed after a vehicle overturned on Highway 101 in San Jose early Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The solo crash occurred on southbound Highway 101 at the Oakland Road offramp around 6:19 a.m., the CHP said.

The vehicle ended up back on its wheels, blocking two lanes, said CHP officer Efrain Jauregui.

The ramp from northbound Interstate 880 to southbound 101 was closed around 7 a.m. All lanes were reopened about three hours later.

Officials will release the person’s identity after it is confirmed and next of kin is notified.
