Pat McAfee makes $50K golf bet with Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane
On Tuesday, Pat McAfee brought Buffalo Bills General Manager Brandon Beane onto his eponymous ESPN show. Although the conversation was mostly about football, McAfee couldn't help but throw some money on a round of golf.
McAfee told Beane if he shoots a round under par at a nice course this season, he will donate $50,000 to the Bills. Instead of accepting the solo challenge, Beane had a counter offer for McAfee.
Beane invited McAfee to come out to Rochester, NY and play at Oak Hill Country Club, site of last year's PGA Championship. Better yet, Beane told McAfee he’ll get Oak Hill to let him record his show right there at the club. McAfee immediately accepted, but Beane had one condition:
"Make sure you bring your checkbook,” he said.
Beane says he’s only shot under par once but clearly loves the challenge of trying to do it again at a tour-level course.
Beane isn't the only golf nut in the Bills' organization, however. Quarterback Josh Allen spent NFL Draft weekend playing a bucket-list round at Pine Valley. Bean shared a story on McAfee’s show about how Allen called him Friday morning asking what his thoughts were for their pick in the draft that night
McAfee and Beane didn’t confirm a date, but we expect to see The Pat McAfee Show live from Oak Hill at some point this summer.
