Vizio Unveils New Soundbar Range, With Prices Starting At $99

Following

Popular value-oriented AV brand Vizio has taken the wraps off a new seven-strong line-up of soundbars that it claims offer a unique combination of value, ease of use and innovative design.

The value claim is immediately backed up by the fact that the new entry level Vizio 2.0 Soundbar (or SV200M-08 to give its eminently forgettable model number) will cost just $99 when it launches, while every other Vizio model except for the $499 flagship Elevate SE will set you back less than $250.

On the ease of use front, if you don’t want to have to add the soundbars’ remote controls to the pile of handsets cluttering up your coffee table, each new Vizio soundbar can be controlled by either your TV remote or Vizio’s Mobile App.

The big design talking point, meanwhile, is Vizio’s new QuickFit concept. This patent-pending idea enables you to physically attach the new soundbars to compatible Vizio TVs using a pair of simple thumb screws included with select soundbar models. These screws can be inserted into the under side of compatible Vizio TVs by hand, with no screw drivers required, creating a pair of fitting posts that the new soundbars can connect to with a satisfying ‘click’ mechanism.

Designed to eliminate cord clutter, gaps and, especially usefully, fiddly soundbar wall mounting woes, QuickFit is already available on a range of current Vizio TVs. Namely the VQP75C-84 and VQP65C-84 Quantum Pro models; the M65Q6-L4 and M75Q6-L4 Quantum models; the 4K V655M-K04, V755M-K04, V4K55M-08, V4K55C-08, V4K65M-08, V4K65C-08, V4K70M-08, V4K75C-08, V4K75M-08; and the recently released 86-inch V4K86C-08 model.

All of Vizio’s new soundbars feature support for both the DTS:X and Dolby Atmos sound formats, adjustable sound levels designed predominantly to make dialogue clearer, and a common design theme that combines soft textures, satin-finished enclosures and low-profile shapes to help them look at home in any living room environment.

From entry level to flagship, the full new Vizio soundbar range shapes up as follows:

  • The $99 Vizio 2.0 Soundbar (SV200M-08) delivers Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio tracks through two full-range drivers tucked into a compact form that will be most at home with relatively small TVs.
  • The $129 Vizio All-In-One soundbar (SV210D-08) carries two full-range speakers and two three-inch bass drivers capable of delivering what Vizio describes as ‘size-defying bass’. This streamlined model has picked up a 2024 IF Design award.
  • The $149 Vizio 2.1 Soundbar SE (SV210X-08) is an unusually compact soundbar designed to have minimal impact on your decor that ships with a separate wireless subwoofer to provide more bass.
  • The $169 Vizio 2.1 Soundbar (SV210M-08) is a more powerful 2.1-channel soundbar solution, where the main bar is again joined by an external wireless subwoofer.
  • The $229 Vizio 5.1 Soundbar SE (SV510X-08) marks the point where Vizio’s new soundbar range steps up to a 5.1-channel solution. The 33-inch wide soundbar is equipped with three full-range drivers, and accompanied by two low-profile surround sound speakers and a compact wireless subwoofer. As with the 2.1-channel SE, the design of this model is intended to have as little impact on your decor as possible.

  • The $249 Vizio 5.1 Soundbar (SV510M-08) provides a more powerful 360-degree surround solution, again adding low-profile surround speakers and a wireless subwoofer to the main three-channel (including dedicated center channel) soundbar.
  • The $499 Vizio Elevate SE (SL512X-08), finally, earns its flagship status in Vizio’s new soundbar range by boasting auto-rotating Adaptive Height Speakers, which turn upwards for Dolby Atmos mixes, or forward for audio formats that with no height channel effects. The Elevate SE package ships with a wireless subwoofer with a six-inch driver, and two surround sound speakers. It, too, is the winner of a 2024 IF Design award.

If any of these new Vizio soundbar models have caught your eye, the first models will start to appear online from May 13, with the rest coming through by this Fall.
