NFL Draft 2025 Rumors: Carson Beck 'Hot' with Scouts, Ahead of Shedeur Sanders, Ewers

There was no doubt Caleb Williams would be the No. 1 overall pick by the time the 2024 NFL draft arrived, but there are reportedly three quarterbacks who are battling for early pole position for the 2025 draft.

ESPN's Matt Miller reported Thursday that "the start of the 2025 class' evaluation is a three-headed monster" between Georgia's Carson Beck, Texas' Quinn Ewers and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders.

He noted Beck is "the hot name among NFL scouts," while Ewers and Sanders can challenge if they "take the next step in their games" during the upcoming campaign.

Beck will be under the spotlight throughout the season as the quarterback of a presumed national championship contender in Georgia. The Bulldogs have won two of the last three College Football Playoff titles and fell just short of the CFP last season because of a loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.

Miller highlighted the "command of the Georgia offense" and "soft touch and driving arm strength that NFL teams love" with Beck, which could combine to overshadow some concerns about his lack of mobility.

The 2023 season was his first as a starter, and he handled the pressure of quarterbacking a two-time reigning national champion team by completing 72.4 percent of his passes for 3,941 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions.

A repeat performance should have the Bulldogs firmly in the mix for the expanded 12-team CFP, especially if Beck can earn a victory on Oct. 19 when they visit Texas with Ewers and the Longhorns now in the SEC.

The CFP will surely be paying attention to that game, but so will NFL scouts since it will pit two of the top quarterbacks for the 2025 draft against each other.
