Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott isn't too worried about wide receiver CeeDee Lamb's recent absence in voluntary offseason workouts as he searches for a new contract from the team.

"No worries," Prescott said, per Patrik Walker of the team's official website. "I know what he's doing. I know how he's preparing."

The three-time Pro Bowl quarterback hasn't been able to get in much offseason work with Lamb given his decision to skip voluntary workouts, although Prescott explained that the two will be "roommates all of July" and should have more than enough time to gain familiarity with one another again.

It shouldn't take long, as the connection between the two helped Dallas earn a division title in 2023. Prescott completed 69.5 percent of his throws for 4,516 yards, racking up 36 touchdowns compared to just nine interceptions.

As for Lamb, he set franchise records with 135 catches for 1,749 yards in 17 starts. He developed into a reliable red zone threat as well, as his 12 touchdown catches represented a career-high mark.

With Lamb currently slated to hit free agency in 2025, he's looking for a long-term deal from the organization.

Prescott is also searching for an extension, telling reporters on Thursday that there are "still conversations" occurring with the front office regarding a contract although he's "focused on helping this team" for the time being (via Walker).

Prior to the 2024 NFL draft, Cowboys director of player personnel Stephen Jones discussed staying patient in extension talks with the two stars as well as pass-rusher Micah Parsons.

"When you're talking about big contracts like Dak, CeeDee and Micah, those things don't happen overnight," said Jones, per Walker. "Those things take time. There's timing based on what other teams are doing at their position."

However, Lamb may be growing impatient after the Detroit Lions extended wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown for four years and $120 million on April 24.

Prescott doesn't seem too worried about Lamb potentially missing significant time as he waits for a new deal, though.
