CONCORD — Prosecutors in Contra Costa County have charged a hair salon owner with sex crimes against a minor that authorities said occurred inside his business.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office filed a charge of forcible rape against 41-year-old Chi Ngoc Vu, owner of the “Chi Hair Salon” in the 4700 block of Clayton Road. Vu also has been charged with unlawful sexual intercourse, forcible oral copulation, oral copulation of a minor under 16 and two counts of lewd acts on a child, according to court documents.

Vu remained in custody Friday at the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $275,000 bail, according to jail records.

Authorities did not release information immediately on how Vu’s crimes came to their attention. They did say that he’s accused of committing the crimes inside the salon.

Police said they have reason to believe that Vu victimized more than one person and urged anyone who may have information to contact Det. Clifton Huffmaster at 925-671-5080.
