Video: Micah Parsons, Sumo Wrestler Go 1-on-1; Texans' C.J. Stroud Trolls Cowboys LB
May 5, 2024Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons has already established himself as one of the best defenders against NFL players.
Now the three-time Defensive Player of the Year finalist is using those skills to take on sumo wrestlers.
Parsons recently went one-on-one with a sumo wrestler in Tokyo, Japan as Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud taunted him with a "too small" celebration:
Parsons and Stroud are in Japan as part of a tour of Asia sponsored by Gridiron Imports.
The two have visited China with trips to Beijing and Shanghai, and are now in Tokyo from May 3 to May 9.
As part of the tour, the two also threw out a ceremonial first pitch before a Tokyo Giants game.
Parson's bout with a sumo wrestler isn't the first time the Cowboys star has entered the ring.
A wrestler in his youth, Parsons considered returning to the sport as a Penn State football commit during his senior year of high school, Brian Linder reported for Penn Live in 2017.
The background helped him hold his own in the dohyō, and will likely help the Cowboys this fall as Parsons aims to record his fourth straight campaign with at least 13.0 sacks.
