The Met Gala, aka the Oscars of fashion (actually better than the Oscars as it’s all red carpet and no scripted banter) takes place Monday, May 6 — and here’s hoping for a garment as glorious as this gold Dolce & Gabbana/Harris Reed creation, worn by Iman on the Met Gala carpet in 2021. This year’s gala celebrates the museum’s latest exhibit at its Costume Institute — “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” which showcases rare garments from the institute’s permanent collection — and has as its red-carpet dress code “The Garden of Time.” So expect … I don’t know, some otherworldly florals? Hourglasses? Vintage dresses trimmed with sod? Bring it on.
