Mexico expressed its condolences for the deaths of an American and a pair of Australian brothers who went missing in Mexico last month, after Baja California prosecutors said three people were in custody in connection with the case.

Baja California state prosecutors said in a statement to the Associated Press that relatives had viewed the bodies and recognized them as American Carter Rhoad and Australians Jake and Callum Robinson, who were reported missing after they lost contact with loved ones while on a surfing trip. Their bodies were found Friday.
