NEET UG 2024 exam: NTA denies paper leak, terms it a rumour

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a statement clarifying rumors circulating on social media regarding a possible leak of the NEET (UG)-2024 question paper. Dr. Sadhana Parashar, Sr. Director, NTA, emphasized that "the Social Media Posts pointing towards any paper leak are completely baseless and without any ground."
The NTA conducted the NEET (UG) 2024 exam successfully on May 5th, 2024, across 4,750 centers in 571 cities (including 14 abroad).The agency's strict security protocols and standard operating procedures ensure the safekeeping of question papers. Dr. Parashar reiterated, "every single Question Paper (QP) has been accounted for."
The rumors seem to stem from an isolated incident at a center in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, where some students left the exam hall with the question paper before the conclusion of the exam. Dr. Parashar clarified, "A picture of this QP is being linked to the alleged incident of paper leak which is mischievous and preposterous."
The NTA maintains that once the exam begins, no one from outside can access the exam halls, which are under CCTV surveillance. Additionally, photos circulating online claiming to be the leaked paper have no connection to the actual exam paper.

While there have been instances of malpractice and impersonation, the NTA has taken strict action against those involved. The agency also conducts post-exam data analysis to detect unfair means.
This year's NEET UG 2024 saw a record-breaking number of registrations, exceeding 24 lakh students. The NTA facilitated this increase by including multiple centers in smaller cities, particularly in the Northeast, Puducherry, Jammu and Kashmir, and other states.
Despite these challenges, the successful execution of NEET UG 2024 involved a dedicated team of over 600 city-level center coordinators, 5,000 center superintendents with their staff across India, and over 4,800 participating schools.
The NTA urges students, parents, teachers, and everyone concerned to disregard these rumors and focus on upcoming examinations.
