Tyreek Hill envisions wearing a Miami Dolphins uniform for the remainder of his NFL career.

"I love Miami. I love every bit of it," he said on the Around the Bar podcast (via Adam Stites of Dolphins Wire). "My wife loves it, my kids love it, my mom loves it. It's just a beautiful city to live in, man. There's so much stuff to do.

"I would like to retire in Miami, but we all know how the NFL is, how jobs go, and people getting promotions over here and — you know — we understand that. But Miami is a great city, man. I love the team I play on, love the guys in the locker room, love the head coach, love the GM. So that means sign me. I love all you guys so much, I want to stay in Miami forever, man. Keep me there."

Hill and the Dolphins are staring down the consequences of the record-setting four-year, $120 million contract he signed upon getting traded to the team in 2022.

The wide receiver market is in the middle of a major spike, with the Philadelphia Eagles' A.J. Brown and Detroit Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown both earning $30-plus million annually. And the market is only going up with the Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson, Dallas Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb and Cincinnati Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase all eligible for extensions.

Hill continues to perform at an elite level. His 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdown grabs were both the highest in the league in 2023.

Still, the Dolphins might have some reservations about paying the eight-time Pro Bowler his market rate as he gets deeper into his 30s. Wideouts, even those in the upper tier, can fall off quickly. Julio Jones was only one year into a massive extension with the Atlanta Falcons when a pronounced decline started.

Miami also has to factor in the potential cost of re-signing Jaylen Waddle, who's due to be a free agent in 2026. In the event it comes down to a choice between Hill and Waddle, the team may opt for the younger and perhaps slightly less expensive option.

My boy waddle is the future , he is better than I was at this point in his career and for people in this fan base to want to trade him is ludicrous 🥹

Him and Tua was special before me and will be special after I leave 🥹

If Hill really does want to stay in South Florida for the rest of his playing career, it may require some financial sacrifice on his end.
