Google shifts 'core' jobs to India, Mexico
Bengaluru: Google has recently laid off 200 employees from its core teams as part of a reorganisation effort, according to a report by CNBC. The restructuring will involve shifting some of the roles to India and Mexico. Affected employees will have the opportunity to apply for open positions within the company.
Documents reviewed by CNBC revealed that at least 50 of the eliminated positions were in engineering at Google's California offices.
A Google spokesperson told TOI, "A number of our teams made changes to become more efficient and work better, remove layers, and align their resources to their biggest product priorities."
