Luxury French speaker and headphone brand Focal has just announced the addition of two more models to its family of high-end headphones. The Hadenys and Azurys are open- and closed-back headphones that are made in France suing patented speaker drivers and are designed to be comfortable as well as easy on the eye.
The Hadenys are open-back, passive headphones intended for use at home in your favorite armchair. They have been designed to capture every musical nuance in a recording.
Inspired by The Hadean, an eon in which the Earth was first formed, these headphones have a brown and earthy color, giving them a slightly organic style. The Hadenys also have the unmistakable Focal design of honeycomb grilles, genuine leather and breathable woven fabric headband and yoke for comfort and lightness.

Meanwhile, the Azurys are a passive pair of headphones with closed backs, making them suitable for use at home or when out on the go. Focal is aiming the Azurys at music enthusiasts who want Focal sound in an accessible product. Using the same design and materials as Hadenys , the Azurys have a unique blueish hue, inspired by Azurite, a semi- precious stone. Focal claims the shade gives the headphones a unique, mesmerizing effect.
The Hadenys and Azurys headphones feature speaker drivers designed and built in France at Focal’s workshops in Saint-Étienne. These are the same dynamic drivers used in Focal’s s Bathys headphones, which were launched in October 2022 as the brand’s first wireless headphones with active noise-cancelling technology.
The Bathys headphones have 40mm drivers with an aluminum/magnesium ‘M’-shaped dome that have been adjusted to fit these two new passive headphones to deliver what Focal calls a “detailed, warm and dynamic high-fidelity sound.” Each set of headphones comes with a matching colored carrying case and all necessary cables.
Pricing & Availability: The Focal Hadenys and Azurys headphones will be available from June 2024. The Hadenys are priced at $699 / £599 / €699 while the closed-back Azurys: sell for $549 / £499 / €549.
