A Prince George’s County police officer has been suspended with pay after being arrested and charged with second-degree assault in Charles County early Tuesday.

According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, police Officer Charles Williams Jr. called the sheriff’s office to his home in Waldorf “in reference to a situation.” Prince George’s police said in a news release that the 1 a.m. call was for a domestic dispute.
