Through Tonight: Quick downpours and maybe some rumbles dot the area through about sunset. After a break, additional showers or storms are possible after midnight. Lows mainly end up in the mid- and upper 60s. Some areas of fog may form overnight and toward sunrise.

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Any patchy fog early Wednesday dissipates quickly. Otherwise, there will be lots of sun and only a very slight chance of a shower or storm. Temperatures soar near 90 in the afternoon, which could threaten some records. Winds blow from the southwest and west around 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday warmth: With afternoon temperatures around 90 again tomorrow, it’s not impossible we see some record highs threatened locally. Record warm lows are also at risk, like this morning’s minimum of 65 at Dulles International Airport, which topped 60 in 1986.
Here are Wednesday afternoon’s targets:
- Washington: 92 in 1936
- Dulles: 90 in 2000
- Baltimore: 93 in 1930
