Charles Barkley would choose Isiah Thomas over Stephen Curry

- by

Speaking on a recent episode of “The Dan Patrick Show,” Barkley explained that he would still pick Thomas over Curry when it comes to undersized guards. “I feel bad for Isiah because he’s the best little man ever, until Steph Curry,” Barkley said (h/t SI’s Joey Lynn). “He never probably got the credit or respect that he deserved, and so I feel bad about it. “I got nothing but respect for Isiah because like I said, he’s the best little [player] until Steph Curry came along, and I’ll be honest with you, if I was in a game, if I had to choose — and I love Steph Curry and I know people gonna go on the internet because they ain’t got no life — if I had to choose between Steph Curry and Isiah, I’d probably go with Isiah in a scenario. But I love Steph, I love Isiah. But if I had one guy, if I had to choose between those two, I’m not going to ever choose against Isiah.”

More on this storyline

Curry won the 2023 championship with four eagles in three days of tournament play, including a hole-in-one during the second round and a scintillating, clutch do-or-die, 18-foot putt on the final hole to capture the title. In winning, Curry became the first active athlete in 23 years to claim the title (Al Del Greco, Tennessee Titans), and the first African-American in the tournament’s 35 years. -via 2News Nevada / May 8, 2024
Defending Tahoe celebrity golf winner Stephen Curry is forgoing this year’s tournament so that can he focus on the Paris Olympics. “I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to defend my title at the American Century Championship in Tahoe this summer, but the chance to represent my country and, hopefully, win an Olympic gold medal the first time at the 2024 Games in Paris is an opportunity that I simply could not pass up,” said Curry. -via 2News Nevada / May 8, 2024
With LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant combining for a single win and nine total games, viewership for the first round of the NBA Playoffs unsurprisingly trailed last year. The first round of the NBA Playoffs averaged a 1.7 rating and 3.14 million viewers across ABC, ESPN, TNT/truTV and NBA TV, down 8% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (1.9, 3.44M), but flat and up 5% respectively from 2022 (1.7, 2.99M). This year’s first round trails only last year and 2018 (3.17M) as the most-watched in the past decade, with the caveat that out-of-home viewing was not included in Nielsen estimates until 2020. -via Sports Media Watch / May 8, 2024
