Commanders; Jayden Daniels Says He'll Buy Mom, Grandma Cars with NFL Rookie Contract
May 8, 2024Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels already knows the first purchase he is going to make once he receives the signing bonus included with his rookie NFL contract.
"Probably give my momma and my grandma a car," Daniels said, when asked what he would spend the money on during Tuesday's episode All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson.
Daniels is expected to sign a fully guaranteed four-year, $37.7 million contract with the Commanders after they selected him with the No. 2 pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, according to Spotrac.
Daniels is joining the Commanders after establishing himself as one of the top quarterbacks in college football with his fifth-year campaign for LSU in 2023.
In 12 games, Daniels threw for 3,812 yards while amassing 40 touchdowns and just four interceptions to impress scouts with a 72.2 percent pass rate.
The Commanders are now hoping Daniels can use that accuracy to succeed as Washington's first-string quarterback. The rookie is expected to get the start for Week 1 as the team seeks to replace former QB1 Sam Howell.
