The Storm waived rookie free agent and Renton native Quay Miller, along with veteran free agents Alaina Coates and Kaela Davis, on Wednesday.

Miller, a 6-foot-3 forward who starred at Kentridge High, played two years at the University of Washington before a standout three-year tenure with the Colorado Buffaloes.

The Storm invited Miller to training camp after she went undrafted. She played sparingly in two scoreless outings in the preseason.

Coates, a fifth-year center, tallied six points, two rebounds, two blocks and a steal in 16 minutes of exhibition action.

Davis, a fifth-year forward who played with the Storm in 2022, averaged 14 minutes in a pair of preseason games and tallied three points and seven rebounds.

The Storm have 13 players and are expected to keep 11, one shy of the WNBA limit, due to salary-cap restraints. Teams must submit their final rosters Monday before Tuesday’s regular-season opener.
