NFL legend Peyton Manning knows what it's like to be a star athlete in the city of Indianapolis, and he imparted some of his wisdom on Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.

During Wednesday's media availability, Clark told reporters Manning "has always just been a really good resource, even before I honestly declared for the WNBA draft." She added the five-time MVP has been "very supportive of the women's game."

The 2024 No. 1 overall pick said it was fortuitous she wound up in Indiana, where Manning spent the first 13 seasons of his career. She sought his advice on some of the good Italian restaurants in the area.

Clark is among the college stars profiled in Full Court Press, an ESPN documentary from Manning's Omaha Productions. As a result, the two became familiar with one another well before Clark's arrival in Indy was confirmed.

Asked about her at a premiere event for the show, Manning said he was already helping with "some behind the ropes" amenities.

You probably couldn't ask for a better ambassador to all things Indianapolis than Peyton Manning. Maybe Clark will come to carry a similar significance to the city.
