A building fire Wednesday afternoon displaced residents from 26 units at a Ravenna apartment complex, Seattle Fire Department officials said.

Firefighters responded to the 900 block of Northeast 63rd Street around 1:40 p.m. and found heavy smoke and flames coming from a third-floor unit, the department said in a news release.

The fire was extinguished by 3:18 p.m. While the fire was contained to one unit, the main water pipes within the building sustained damage, displacing people from all 26 units in the property.

There were no reported injuries. Investigators determined the fire’s cause was accidental and likely due to electrical problems, the release said.

The Red Cross has been requested to assist the displaced residents.
