A rare cello estimated to be worth $250,000 was stolen from a home in the Central District, Seattle police said Wednesday.

Officers responded to a burglary call around 5 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of 24th Avenue, a news release says. When the homeowners arrived to their residence, the front door was open and a window was shattered.

The cello, an 1890 Enrico Marchetti with a blue and black carbon-fiber case, was last seen Saturday, police said. In addition to the instrument, a bow and other items were stolen.
