A pedestrian pushing a baby in a stroller was hit Thursday afternoon in Lynnwood, on a stretch of roadway without sidewalks.

The adult and baby were both in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center on Thursday evening. The collision was in a residential neighborhood on 67th Avenue West north of 183rd Street Southwest, according to Lynnwood police.

A vehicle traveling north approached a small rise in the road where the pedestrian, walking in the same direction on the roadway, was struck from behind. The driver was driving with a suspended license, according to police. Police said intoxication was not suspected.

Lynnwood’s walkability has been one of its government’s focus points in recent years. Many of the city’s roads have been found to have little pedestrian access or have not met federal mandates to serve residents with disabilities.

The investigation into Thursday’s collision is ongoing.
