Chad Ochocinco says Kevin Durant wants to go to Miami

- by

Chad Ochocinco Johnson threw flames on the speculation with recent comments he made on a podcast, when the former NFL receiver said that Durant talked to him about joining the Miami Heat. “What makes you think he’d want to go to Miami now?” Shannon Sharpe asked Johnson on the Nightcap podcast. “Because I talked to him,” Johnson replied. “I talked to KD and I know KD is going to see this and KD can attest to this. You can talk about it tomorrow on First Take. KD and I had a lengthy conversation. Listen, I’m not into basketball and people like KD and LeBron and some of these other players that I know, they confide in me. And I asked if it was OK to talk about tonight on Nightcap and it just so happens, boom, it comes up. “And he said he would have no problem coming down to Miami, if it made sense.”

Kevin Durant never felt comfortable within Frank Vogel’s offensive scheme, and multiple key players had lost faith in him as their head coach, per @DougHaller (theathletic.com/5460738/2024/0…).

“Frank Vogel gets fired after his 1st season all because the 2-time NBA champion, 2-time finals MVP in Kevin Durant wasn’t speaking to the man and listening to Frank Vogel for the last 3 months and all of the sudden it becomes a ripple effect.” @KendrickPerkins #Suns #NBAPlayoffs pic.twitter.com/CDqLIU8o5I12:55 AM

Seeing Kevin Durant and Devin Booker both average 27.1 points a game, I’ve been wondering why Durant 6th, Booker 7th in NBA in scoring in the regular season.
Time to do some math.
Durant: 2,032 points ÷ 75 games = 27.0933333333.
Booker: 1,841 points ÷ 68 games = 27.0735294118. pic.twitter.com/pe4h6Xt1Qy1:30 PM

With LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant combining for a single win and nine total games, viewership for the first round of the NBA Playoffs unsurprisingly trailed last year. The first round of the NBA Playoffs averaged a 1.7 rating and 3.14 million viewers across ABC, ESPN, TNT/truTV and NBA TV, down 8% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (1.9, 3.44M), but flat and up 5% respectively from 2022 (1.7, 2.99M). This year’s first round trails only last year and 2018 (3.17M) as the most-watched in the past decade, with the caveat that out-of-home viewing was not included in Nielsen estimates until 2020. -via Sports Media Watch / May 8, 2024
