Buy or Sell Solo Sikoa vs. Jacob Fatu and the Bloodline Latest, More WWE, AEW Rumors

0 of 5

The pro wrestling rumor mill might be setting record temperatures for itself in mid-May thanks to the droves of happenings in WWE and some free-agency rumblings around AEW.

Over in WWE, there is some must-see buzz about the impending arrival of a new faction, there's a tournament ongoing and even notable suggestions about one Superstar's push alongside more arrivals to his faction.

And when it comes to AEW, there's more buzz about free agents and one well-established Superstar, to boot.

To help fans keep pace, here's a look at the must-know rumors and some advice on whether to buy or sell each item.

Bo Dallas Faction Incoming?

1 of 5

The Bray Wyatt-themed faction appears close to its debut, at least based on the pace of the constant QR code hints that fans have been able to interact with during WWE broadcasts.

According to PW Insider (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats), that faction will understandably start with Bo Dallas as the leader.

Notable is the other reported names in the group: Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan and Nikki Cross.

All of those make sense based on their connections to the Superstars involved and/or past dealings with Wyatt himself. Rowan is especially notable because he is only just now likely returning to WWE outright.

In time, perhaps the group interacts with other Wyatt-adjacent names like Braun Strowman and Alex Bliss. But for now, that early list seems like an easy buy.

    Verdict: Buying

Tournament Matches Moved?

2 of 5

WWE perplexed some fans by moving King and Queen of the Ring tournament matches off Raw recently, then confused them even more by simply shifting said matches to house shows.

According to Fightful Select (h/t Ortman), this was by design because there was concern that putting all of the matches on television would be "overloading" Raw.

This is a big sell, though, at least in the sense that WWE could possibly overload an episode of Raw.

Raw is, after all, a three-hour program that sometimes limps badly in the middle. It's 2024, too—more wrestling is a good thing, especially when the stakes are so high. Anything with stakes happening "off-screen" in other television shows would be frowned upon, so WWE should avoid it in scenarios like this, too.

    Verdict: Selling

Big Name Free Agent Almost Signed with AEW in 2020?

3 of 5

No company has more free-agent buzz around it consistently these days than AEW.

As it turns out, that could have been even more true in 2020.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio's Bryan Alvarez (h/t Ortman), Edge was actually close to signing with AEW in 2020, to the point that those in the company were "very upset" when he returned to WWE.

Easy buy—these things happen in negotiations with top Superstars in any sport, and it would seem that WWE put in the last, best offer, and Edge went with it.

Fast forward to now, Edge is in AEW as Adam Copeland anyway, so it's something that's all in the past, yet still interesting.

    Verdict: Buying

WWE Worried About Solo Sikoa and Another Bloodline Member?

4 of 5

The latest incoming member of Solo Sikoa's Bloodline is one that, per the rumor mill, is a little concerning for WWE.

Concerning, in the sense there's the worry that the new member could hurt Sikoa's credibility.

According to WrestleVotes (h/t Ortman), the impending arrival of Jacob Fatu has caused concern because there's a chance "that Fatu's presence could outshine Solo at this stage".

If that were the case, though, it would be hard to imagine WWE brings Fatu in at this current stage.

Fatu is fantastic, especially in the ring for his blend of size and athleticism. But any concerns can get masked over by the presentation pretty easily by making the new arrival default to Sikoa and perhaps alter his in-ring style for now until those "concerns" ease.

    Verdict: Selling

Sammy Guevara Update

5 of 5

Sammy Guevara is one of the more notable AEW names who remains in the headlines over the last few years.

Guevara was recently suspended rather publicly after a shooting-star press went wrong and he broke Jeff Hardy's nose before opting not to finish the match in a way that followed concussion guidelines.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Rajah.com's Jeff Whalen), though, Guevara's suspension is over, and creative simply hasn't had anything for him yet.

This one makes a lot of sense. Guevara has had other issues in AEW before this incident, so slow walking it would make sense. Plus, AEW creative as a whole right now has a lot going on and plenty of title scenes to sort through, so taking their time and coming up with the right spot to get him back in the swing of things would seem to be the right approach.

    Verdict: Buying
