Seattle-area stargazers got a spectacular view of the aurora borealis Friday night, as a strong solar storm hit Earth.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration had warned of potential disruptions the storm could cause in the nation’s power and communication infrastructures.
There were no immediate reports of disruptions to power or communications, the AP reported Saturday.
The aurora, also called the northern lights, is expected to be visible in the region through Sunday night.
