Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Collision and Rampage on May 11.

Once again, Rampage was moved to a different night. At this point, it will feel weirder when the show ends up back in its usual Friday time slot.

Here is a look at what AEW advertised for this week's double-taping:

    • Adam Copeland vs. Kyle O'Reilly (TNT Championship)
    • Thunder Rosa vs. Robyn Renegade
    • Lee Moriarty vs. Will Ospreay
    • Lady Frost vs. Deonna Purrazzo
    • Dax Harwood vs. Tommy Billington
    • Trent Beretta vs. Dalton Castle

Let's take a look at what happened on this week's Collision and Rampage.

BCC vs. Top Flight

1 of 11

    Collision.
    Collision.AEW

Claudio Castagnoli and Bryan Danielson's entrance kicked off the show as they prepared to take on Top Flight.

The action was surprisingly even for a long time, with Top Flight possibly even having more time in control. They kept a quick pace and made sure all four men got plenty of time in the ring.

Dante and Darius Martin have really come into their own as performers over the past six months. They look more confident in the ring and have toned down the high-flying stuff just enough to make each move have a bit more impact while still making it their primary form of offense.

While this was a great bell-to-bell performance, it was also predictable. Even though AEW can surprise us sometimes, nobody came into this expecting Top Flight to win, unfortunately.

After a fun bout that produced some "This is awesome" chants, Danielson and Castagnoli scored the win. Danielson grabbed a mic and put over Dante and Darius as being what AEW is all about.

    Result: BCC defeated Top Flight

    Grade: B+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • A video was played showing a previous match that featured AR Fox. Whatever happened to him? He hasn't been on AEW TV in months.
    • Danielson holding Darius while Castagnoli hit a dropkick was a good double-team spot.
    • It was a bit odd that Castagnoli left in the middle of Danielson's promo.

Lee Moriarty vs. Will Ospreay

2 of 11

    Collision.
    Collision.AEW

Roderick Strong was on commentary for Ospreay's match against Moriarty because Strong is defending the International Championship against him at Double or Nothing.

Shane Taylor accompanied Taigastyle to the ring, but Anthony Ogogo was absent this week. They started off slowly with a basic lockup and an exchange of wristlocks as they eased their way into it.

The Kingdom was also at ringside with Roddy, so Ospreay had a lot of distractions to worry about. Taylor took a couple of opportunities to interfere during the break, too.

Despite the shenanigans from everyone else, Ospreay and Moriarty put on a hell of a performance that had the crowd on its feet toward the end. The former IWGP champion hit a Stormbreaker for the win, but Taylor jumped him after it was over.

The powerhouse left Ospreay to the wolves after hitting a big KO punch.

    Result: Ospreay defeated Moriarty

    Grade: B+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Even the way Ospreay does simple moves like a headlock takeover has something extra to it.
    • You could hear Matt Taven making funny comments at ringside despite not having a headset.
    • Moriarty is so good at everything. AEW needs to make better use of him. He should be doing more than just putting people over every week.
    • Where's Wardlow?

Brian Cage and Gates of Agony Squash, Daniel Garcia vs. KM

3 of 11

    Collision.
    Collision.AEW

Brian Cage, Kaun and Toa Liona were in trios action this week against local talents Evan Rivers and The Voros Twins, who some may know from their antics on social media.

This was a quick squash that ended with Cage and The Gates of Agony getting a victory. Tony Schiavone asked them why they turned on Swerve Strickland and Cage said it was because Swerve was just using them to get ahead while offering nothing in return.

The AEW champion showed up and took on all three men to get some revenge. The match was a simple squash but the attack that came after was entertaining and set up a Cage vs. Swerve singles bout for the future.

Result: Cage, Kaun and Liona defeated Rivers and the Voros Twins.

    Grade: Incomplete

The next match saw Daniel Garcia take on a powerhouse known only as KM. This was more competitive than most short AEW matches, but it made sense because KM is such a big guy.

Red Death picked up a win in a bout that was too short to be memorable but better than most two-minute matches.

    Result: Daniel Garcia defeated KM

    Grade: C

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • The ref made zero effort to stop the powerhouses from just triple-teaming everyone for as long as they wanted.
    • KM's gear was giving Hart Foundation vibes.

Dax Harwood vs. Tommy Billington

4 of 11

    Collision.
    Collision.AEW

The original Dynamite Kid's nephew made his AEW debut this week when Billington took on Harwood in singles competition.

The newcomer gave up a lot of size and experience, but he made the match competitive by using his quickness and technical ability.

This was a complete change of pace from everything that came before it on this show. It lacked the chaos the previous matches had but in a good way. This was a clean, competitive exchange between two technicians at different career stages.

They did a good job mixing more of an old school style with modern offense. Billington came into this as an unknown to most fans, so seeing him get so much time in the ring is a good sign that AEW may be interested in signing him.

Harwood got the win with a slingshot powerbomb. FTR looked impressed and showed Billington some respect after the match.

    Result: Harwood defeated Billington

    Grade: B+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Billington coming out to the same music as The British Bulldogs was a nice touch. He looks so much like his uncle.
    • The crossbody that sent both men out of the ring was ugly but in the right way. It looked like a nasty spill even though both guys were fine.

Thunder Rosa vs. Robyn Renegade

5 of 11

    Collision.
    Collision.AEW

Thunder Rosa was in action this week against half of the Renegade Twins, Robyn. Charlett was not at ringside for this one.

It was nice to see Robyn get a televised entrance for once, but it didn't make this match any less predictable. We all came into this knowing La Mera Mera would get the win.

Rosa was just in a feud for the world title and Robyn has barely been on AEW TV this year, so this felt similar to Harwood vs. Billington. It was a solid bout designed to make the bigger star look good, and it did just that.

The former women's champion got a submission win with a modified Cobra Clutch. She talked some trash into the camera to Purrazzo before heading to the back.

    Result: Rosa defeated Robyn

    Grade: B-

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • We got a backstage segment that set up The Young Bucks vs. Matt Sydal and Christopher Daniels for next week.
    • It always feels like it's Robyn who gets the singles matches for some reason.
    • Rosa's gear and paint were awesome as usual.

Adam Copeland vs. Kyle O'Reilly

6 of 11

    Collision.
    Collision.AEW

The main event of the Collision portion of the show was the TNT title bout between Copeland and O'Reilly.

The crowd was pumped up and on its feet before they even locked up, so expectations for a good match were high right out of the gate.

Cope and KOR took their time and worked a very basic match at first. They were using a lot of standard holds, counters and takedowns, but they were doing it in a way that made it look like they were trying to one-up each other to see which one was the better technician.

They did a great job increasing the pace and severity of their offense as time went on to build anticipation for the finish. They had almost 20 minutes, so they had plenty of time to pace themselves and sell big spots.

This was an outstanding performance that served as a reminder that both of these guys are incredibly talented wrestlers in their own unique ways. KOR is a technical mastermind and Copeland is a showman of the highest degree who can hold his own on the mat. They meshed together well to put on a banger.

After a hard-fought match, Copeland retained his TNT title. He helped KOR up and hugged him as the crowd gave them a standing ovation.

    Result: Copeland defeated O'Reilly

    Grade: A-

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Hook gave one of his longest promos to date in a pre-taped segment.
    • If you didn't see O'Reilly on Hey EW with RJ City, you should go watch it. You get to see a new side of KOR.
    • There was one moment that seemed unplanned when Copeland went for an arm drag and dropped too quickly, so KOR didn't go over and acted like he countered it once he realized it was too late to hit the move.
    • KOR's Spear counter into a guillotine choke was awesome.

Trent Beretta vs. Dalton Castle

7 of 11

    Rampage.
    Rampage.AEW

Beretta came out to the Best Friends theme wearing one of their old shirts for his match against Castle, who was accompanied by four men dressed as The Boys.

Castle had a slight power advantage and used it to take control early in the match. A running knee on the apron put Beretta on the floor, but it also gave him some time to recover so he could get the upper hand.

With Castle's infrequent appearances on AEW television, it didn't seem likely that he would beat a guy who is in the midst of a heel turn, but they worked hard to make this feel like an even fight.

The one complaint is that Beretta didn't do enough in this bout to show his new heel personality. He barely skirted the rules and worked a relatively standard match. He was a bit more vicious than usual but that was about it.

Beretta won by referee stoppage when he choked Castle out.

    Result: Beretta defeated Castle

    Grade: B-

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • There was a strange moment after their match when KOR reacted to Copeland having some blood in his mouth.
    • Castagnoli explained why he left during Danielson's promo during a backstage interview.
    • Daddy Magic saying Don Callis has been flirting with Orange Cassidy was really funny for some reason.

Bryan Keith vs. JD Drake

8 of 11

    Bryan Keith.
    Bryan Keith.AEW

Bryan Keith was in action this week in a bout against JD Drake. The Bounty Hunter was the only one to get a televised entrance, so the outcome was clear from the jump.

Keith didn't let Drake's size stop him from taking control at first, but The Blue Collar Badass was able to get in some offense eventually.

Keith hit a modified stunner to get a quick win. It was nice to see both of these guys get a little screen time even if it was just for a random match.

    Result: Keith defeated Drake

    Grade: C

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Drake's one-legged dropkick looked great.
    • Keith's finisher didn't go so well but they made it work.

Deonna Purrazzo vs. Lady Frost

9 of 11

    Rampage.
    Rampage.AEW

Purrazzo followed up her promo from earlier in the show with a singles match against Lady Frost.

Once again, this was a match with a predictable outcome that was made better by how hard both women worked to make it feel more competitive.

The crowd got behind Frost during the commercial break and began popping for every big move she hit. This went from feeling like it would be a throwaway to one of the more physical matches of the night.

The Virtuosa got the win but had to run for her life when Rosa came down with a chair trying to attack her.

    Result: Purrazzo defeated Frost

    Grade: B

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Frost almost didn't land her kip up, which is surprising because she is so agile.
    • The double-twist corkscrew Frost hit was awesome.

Johnny TV vs. Pac

10 of 11

    Pac.
    Pac.AEW

Johnny TV and Taya Valkyrie gave a promo earlier in the show to hype the main event match with Pac. Mr. Television got some cheap heat by using a Vancouver hockey jersey in an inappropriate way, so Pac kicked his face off to pop the crowd.

Even though both of these men can be called high-flyers, they use completely different styles, so this ended up being a fun mix of Johnny's parkour-heavy offense with Pac's effortless feats of agility.

Valkyrie played a little dirty by interfering but it happened early enough in the fight to not make much of a difference. Pac got in her face and gave Johnny a chance to take him down with a dive over the top rope.

In fact, her trying to interject herself into the action backfired and led to her and Johnny colliding on the apron. Pac immediately locked in his signature submission to get the win.

The Gunns and Jay White taunted Pac from the big screen to end the show.

    Result: Pac defeated Johnny TV

    Grade: B+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • We got a video package for Scorpio Sky that sounded like a motivational speech.
    • Pac has a perfect moonsault. A lot of people can do one, but few do it as well as he does.
    • Johnny got so much heat for making out with his wife mid-match.

The Final Word

11 of 11

    Collision.
    Collision.AEW

This week's three-hour block of AEW programming featured a handful of fun matches, but the common throughline was the predictability of every outcome.

Most pro wrestling TV bouts are predictable, but it's on the promotion to surprise us enough to believe anything is possible. It feels like AEW has slid into a pattern of focusing more on putting on random good matches than anything else, which will only get you so far.

Copeland vs. O'Reilly was easily the best thing we saw all night, and Cope's feud with House of Black was advanced when he challenged Malakai Black to a barbed wire cage match for the TNT title to put this feud to bed once and for all.

All in all, this was a decent three hours of wrestling, but every televised promotion needs to start being more unpredictable soon before it becomes more of an issue.

    Grade: B
