For those of you starving for some sexy vampire content, AMC’s second season of Interview With the Vampire is ready and eager to quench your thirst. The series, which serves as a scintillating adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1976 novel of the same name, chronicles the consuming (and, let’s be honest, toxic) relationship between vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and his maker Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid).

Picking up right where season 1 left off, Louis continues to narrate his life story (or is it his undead story?) to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) in present day 2022, where he recalls the events immediately following his and Claudia’s attempted murder of Lestat in 1940. Eager to leave New Orleans behind them and start anew, Louis and Claudia (Delainey Hayles, replacing Bailey Bass) find themselves in Paris in the hope of tracking down Old World Vampires—a mission that proves to be very successful after they come across a vampire-run theater known as the Theatre Des Vampires. (Subtle, right?)

But while this may initially sound like everything Louis and Claudia thought they wanted, be careful what you wish for, because soon after, Louis first meets and falls in love with Armand (Assad Zaman). Sure, Lestat may have been scary and controlling in a more obvious way, but this guy is so ancient and powerful that not even the sun can hurt him. Clearly, the stakes could not be higher.

But before we sink our teeth into Interview With the Vampire Season 2 (sorry, vamp puns come with the territory, folks), there are a few things you should know beforehand.

When Does Season 2 Premiere?

Though it’s been a while since viewers have had a taste of vampire goodness (season 1 concluded in November 2022), your patience is about to be rewarded ten times over. The first episode of season 2 premieres on Sunday, May 12, 2024 on AMC and AMC+. That is so soon! And yes, that does also happen to be on Mother’s Day. But really, what better way is there to show your mom you care than by sitting down and watching a sexy vampire drama together? It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

When Will the Next Episode of Interview with the Vampire Drop?

While it’s true that many TV shows these days prefer to release the episodes of a season all at once, Interview With the Vampire is taking the slow burn approach and will release one episode per week following the premiere. This means you can catch Episode 2 the following Sunday on May 19.

How Many Episodes Will There Be?

Unlike season 1, which consisted of seven episodes total, season 2 has upped the ante a bit by giving us a whopping eight episodes this time around. No, really, I’m not kidding. Cross my heart and hope to… well, you know.
