How to Use ChatGPT to Organize Your Ideas Like a Pro

When working on big projects, you have many ideas for upcoming features and concepts.

Ideas come to you like puzzle pieces. You write them down in a notebook, but they’re not organized.

Seeing the picture you are trying to build is difficult when your ideas are all over the place. You need to sort and categorize them to prioritize what’s most important.

In this short article, I want to show you how to organize your ideas into categories with ChatGPT, making your work smoother.

First, create a place to write all the ideas.

Ideas come to your mind, but you won’t remember them if you don’t write them right away.

Create a place where you can write down your ideas. While you can organize them from the beginning, I find it’s not very helpful since I usually write what comes to mind during other tasks.

I like to write down all my ideas in one place, some with misspellings, but it’s unimportant; I write them there to remember them. I organize them when I get back to the list.

ChatGPT for Idea Categorization: Step-by-Step Guide

Here’s how ChatGPT can make sense of your scattered ideas:

1. Write all your thoughts and notes together.

2. If you, like me, write with many grammatical errors, use this prompt to correct all the words and the grammar. (Write your ideas between the quotation marks.)

Act like an English teacher.

1. Read the TEXT.

2. Fix grammatical errors in this text.

Ultra Important: You must only fix grammatical errors; do not edit the text.

TEXT=" "

3. Use this prompt to organize ideas. (Write your ideas between the quotation marks).

Act like a product designer working on [Write here what your product does].

Pro Tips

Customizing the Categorization

You can tell ChatGPT exactly how to sort your ideas.

Let’s say a team is building a new app. You can use ChatGPT to sort all the new ideas into categories like “Design,” “User Experience,” and “Marketing.”

Another concept is to organize the ideas into “Basic features” and “advanced features.”

Use this prompt:

Act like a product designer working on [Write here what your product does].

Here is a list of many IDEAS I have for my product.

Categorize into Basic ideas or advanced ideas.

IDEAS = " "

Ask ChatGPT to show you the categories and select how you want it to categorize them

In addition, you can ask Chat GPT for a list of categories and then tell ChatGPT what categories you want to use.

Use this prompt:

Act like a product designer working on [Write here what your product does].

Here is a list of many IDEAS I have. Categorize them.

1. First, think about categorizing how you can cluster them.

2. Ask me what category to use.

3. I give you the categories I want you to use.

4. Categorize the idea.

IDEAS = " "

Important

Do not add specific details and information about your product in ChatGPT. The chat may save all the information, so adding specific details can be a security risk.
