Godsmack’s Latest Single Is Still Climbing

Following

Godsmack’s new single “Truth” is slowly becoming not just another promotional cut from the band, but a proper hit. The hard rock outfit has been pushing the tune for months, and bit-by-bit and week-by-week, it’s climbing.

This week, “Truth” lifts on the three Billboard charts it appears on. The single reaches a new peak position on all of them at once, and it’s inching closer to becoming another top 10 on at least one ranking.

“Truth” is the biggest hit on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. That tally focuses on the tunes that rack up the largest number of total audience impressions across radio stations in the U.S. that play “mainstream” rock, which is usually the harder side of the genre. On that tally, Godsmack’s latest win is up from No. 5 to No. 4.

Several weeks ago, “Truth” helped Godsmack tie with several other rock legends as it cracked the top 10. They have now accrued 28 placements inside the competitive tier, including this latest smash. Godsmack is on the same level as both Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Metallica for the fourth-most top 10s in the history of the tally.

In a few weeks, it’s entirely possible that the single will also enter the top 10 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart. This frame, “Truth” improves from No. 19 to No. 13. That’s a sizable leap, and it shows that there’s real heat behind the cut.

Looking beyond just radio spins, “Truth” is also performing well on yet another list. Godsmack’s focus track is up to a new peak of No. 15 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. It entered the top 20 last frame, and it’s now nearing the top 10.

“Truth” was officially spun off as a single from Godsmack’s latest album Lighting Up the Sky in mid-February. The track serves as the fourth promotional cut from the full-length, which the band says will be their last. Lighting Up the Sky dropped more than a year ago in February 2023, and the group has been sharing songs from the title since mid-2022.
