PM Update: Remaining pleasant and mild through Friday

It’s a tranquil end to the workweek as rather nice weather retains control for another day.

Some afternoon clouds aside, today ended up quite the weather delight. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s are as warm as it’s been in over a week. Modest humidity and a breeze made it feel all the more picture perfect for a springtime day. Better yet, conditions are set to remain worry-free through Friday.

Through tonight: It’ll be a beautiful evening and a pleasant overnight with mainly clear skies. Mid-50s to around 60 should do it for lows. Occasionally gusty north winds of the day diminish with sunset and shift to come from the east with time.

Tomorrow (Friday): Partial sunshine is the rule, although it may be sunnier than that in the morning. Temperatures again head deep into the 70s or near the 80. Winds blow lightly out of the east.

Pollen update: Tree and grass pollen are moderate. Mold spores are moderate/high.

Weekend rain watch: There’s still considerable uncertainty as to where the line between a soaking and not a lot of rain ends up. That line could be right around here, although small shifts can increase or decrease potential rain totals with ease.

It does seem the best odds of rain are Saturday and Saturday night, with diminishing risk through Sunday. There is also a high likelihood that the heaviest rain will stay south of the immediate area, with much of Virginia picking up 1 to 2 inches of rain or more.
