Nobody questions the hierarchy between Tom Brady and Greg Olsen on a football field. When it comes to the broadcast booth, however, the dynamic is flipped.

The former NFL tight end said on USA Today's Sports Seriously that Brady has reached out to him for advice prior to making his Fox debut.

"Every guy has their own journey in sports broadcasting," Olsen said. "I think everyone thinks it's easy. I think everyone thinks getting up there and calling a live football game for three hours off the cuff and being able to get in, get out, deal with the flow of the game, the players, the schemes, the terminology — there's a lot going on during a game."

The three-time Pro Bowler was also honest when he said there isn't a "real correlation" between what a player did in the NFL and how he'll perform as a broadcaster.

During Fox's upfront, football fans learned that Brady will call his first game when the Cleveland Browns host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

A level of curiosity followed from the moment the seven-time Super Bowl champion signed a deal with Fox reportedly worth $375 million over 10 years. That's more than his career earnings from the NFL.

Fox is making a massive bet on Brady when, as Olsen said, there's no guarantee whether he'll actually be any good as an analyst.

The situation became a little more complicated as Olsen drew rave reviews for his work as part of the network's No. 1 broadcast team in Brady's absence. It raised the question of whether Fox even needs the legendary quarterback in the first place and set a high bar for him to clear.

Intense preparations and an attention to detail helped Brady succeed on the gridiron, so it's safe to assume he's doing the same thing as he embarks on his second career. But that alone won't ensure he fulfills the massive expectations that have been thrust upon him.
