So, wait, who is John Stirling?
John Stirling is one of the eligible men in this year's marriage mart who seems to have his eye on Francesca Bridgerton. We first meet him in episode 3, when he bumps into Francesca outside of the ball. Francesca notes that she was in search for some quiet and he tells her that they should enjoy it together. While he doesn't actually formally introduce himself that night, it's clear that there is a spark between them as she heads back inside.
At the beginning of episode 4, he ends up making a surprise appearance at the Bridgerton household where he calls upon Francesca. Surprising the rest of the family, the two don't really share a word until he leaves.
She later bumps into him while near the shops where they share a conversation about someone playing an instrument outside. However, Francesca notes that she would rather hear it played some other way, which quickly prompts Lord Kilmartin to leave and leaving her confused.
Later on, at the ball, he reunites with Francesca and presents her with a scroll with the music as she wanted to hear it. She runs off back home to play it, surprising Violet and clearly confirming that they are a love match.
