BAY POINT — A pedestrian died Sunday night after being hit by a vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said.

Authorities have identified the victim as Senal Chand, 34, of Bay Point.

The collision happened on Willow Pass Road at Poinsettia Avenue about 9:25 p.m.

CHP spokesperson Officer Dan Gilmore said that a black Honda Odyssey was going west on Willow Pass Road when it hit the person near Poinsettia Avenue. The pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and was not injured, Gilmore said. The CHP did not make an arrest.
