Though the legal sector has a history for being a touch reticent when it comes to exploring new technology, the professional and legal side of LexisNexis is making inroads with AI.

Quick to find uses for AI after the rise of ChatGPT, Jeff Reihl, executive vice president and CTO for the legal and professional side of LexisNexis, says his company shifted gears on certain projects. In some instances, it even meant putting some efforts on hold indefinitely in favor of a new, AI-driven path.

Reihl discussed what resources needed to be aligned within the organizations to take on this initiative, coordinating with the executive leadership to support the effort, surprises that took shape, and how LexisNexis has gauged the effectiveness of the project.
