On Monday, the Consortium of Asian American Theaters and Artists announced that the National Asian American Theater Conference and Festival, aka ConFest, will be held in Chicago August 13-18.

The theme of this year’s programming will be “Revolutionary Acts,” with a lineup of productions, panels and speakers that confront issues of social injustice. According to a press release, the fest aims to provide “a space for Asian American theater practitioners and their allies from across the country to connect and build the relationships that help keep the community vibrant and alive.”

It will be hosted Victory Gardens Theater, Silk Road Rising and the Theatre School at DePaul University, with tickets already on sale. ConFest Early Bird passes are now available at www.caata.net, and single tickets for festival shows and new play readings will be available Wednesday, June 20 at 10 a.m.
