The power of motherhood. Khloé Kardashian is adjusting to life as a new mom, and she isn’t shy to share what she’s learning along the way.
The 33-year-old Strong Looks Better Naked author is now opening up about what stuns her most when it comes to taking care of her 1-month-old daughter, True Thompson.
“I think what surprises me most is no matter how tired you are, you find this energy and patience for your child,” she wrote in a Tuesday, May 22, post to her Khloé With a K blog. “You know that babies are so helpless and they rely on you for everything. So something just takes over and you find the energy to care for this helpless precious baby.”
The reality star has been vocal about sharing her journey of raising her first child with boyfriend Tristan Thompson, including their reasoning behind choosing the name True for their baby girl.
“My grandma MJ suggested True. She told me it was my great-grandfather’s first name and my grandfather’s middle name,” Kardashian revealed on May 14. “It stuck with me for my entire pregnancy and was the only one I couldn’t get out of my head.”
And though Kardashian and Thompson, 27, seemingly hit a roadblock just two days prior to the birth of their daughter when news of the NBA star’s infidelity broke, a source told Us Weekly that they had chosen the unique name prior to the cheating scandal.
“True had already been picked for a while,” the insider told Us. “She went into labor not even knowing the full scope of the cheating so the option of changing her name wasn’t even brought up. It’s too much for one person to deal with during the crazy time.”
The insider noted that “a lot of people thought she’d change the name and were waiting to send her gifts,” but “everything that Khloe bought during her pregnancy was already monogrammed True.”
Despite Thompson’s unfaithfulness, a source confirmed to Us Weekly on May 4, that the pair are “fully back together.”
The couple confirmed their pregnancy in a sweet social media post in December 2017, where Kardashian said it was her “greatest dream realized.”
