Chris Pratt Shows Off the First Baby Lamb of the Season to Arrive on His Farm

Life ain’t so baaad for Chris Pratt and his farm friends.

On Thursday, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor, who is also an avid farmer, revealed that a new member of his farm was born — the first of 2019.

“The first lamb of the season arrived on Valentine’s Day,” Pratt, 39, announced on Instagram alongside a photo of the mother lamb standing over her new baby in their pen.

“I think we’ll call him Cupid. ♥️” the actor shared, as a nod to the little lamb’s Valentine’s Day birthdate.

“Good job Mamma!” he added, before finishing with the hashtags “#farmlife #WeBeLambin’ #lambingseason2019”

Pratt, who recently got engaged to Katherine Schwarzenegger, regularly posts photos and videos of his farm animals, including chickens and their eggs, lambs, and even a Texas longhorn.

Last year, Pratt opened up about his hobby, explaining that he started farming lambs (and fishing) near his Washington home in 2017.

“That’s right, fresh farm to table lamb,” he said on Instagram. “They are the happiest lambs on the planet,” he added, before going into detail about his butcher’s process — and apologizing to vegetarians who might find the post insensitive. (He does grow fruits and vegetables, too.)

Pratt then followed up with a photo of all the meat harvested from the lambs and assured his followers that the animal “lived a very good life.”

“He was groomed and shorn, his hooves medicated, de wormed, no antibiotics necessary. Surrounded by laughing loving humans, including children to whom they provided such joy. Nuzzled, pet and loved every day,” he wrote.

“No stressful travel to his final destination. Trauma Free,” Pratt continued. “Just a touch of a usda certified wand to his head and he goes to sleep. The other sheep don’t even notice. It’s like unplugging a tv.”

The actor revealed that after his butcher “works his magic” he shares the wealth with his friends and family. Pratt also wrote that he may open up shop so his followers can enjoy the fruits of his labor but he’s “gotta get some things dialed in first.”

“I have found a new passion to add to my many others. #farmlife and jack loves it!” he finished, referencing his 6-year-old son Jack (whom he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris). “You’ll know where to sprinkle my ashes. I’ll tell you that.”

Most recently, Pratt shared in January that one of his ewes won a prize for her wool at the Washington State University Country Living Expo in Stanwood, Washington.

“I hate when celebrities brag on here…” he started his post, “but I have to. Our ewe (female sheep) named ‘Cacao’ just took home a blue ribbon at Fiberpalooza!!!! Boom chic-Cacao cao!”

Aside from farming, Pratt has been focusing on his upcoming marriage to Schwarzenegger, 29.

The couple first announced their engagement in January, following a whirlwind romance that saw them fall for each other over the summer. Though the pair — who met through Katherine’s mother, Maria Shriver — have only been together since June, things heated up rather quickly.

A source previously told PEOPLE that the couple has moved in together in West Los Angeles.

“For someone on the outside, it might seem their engagement came too quickly,” a source told PEOPLE. “But for everyone close to them, it feels like they have been dating much longer than they actually have.”
