Not to brag, but I saw The Little Mermaid in theaters. No, not when it was rereleased in 1997 — the first time around, in 1989. So even though I've arguably aged out of enjoying Disney products that border on being categorized as toys, there will always be a place in my heart for anything that references the animated movie that made the biggest impression on my childhood. That's why I pretty much plotzed when I saw that Hot Topic is selling a Dinglehopper Makeup Brush Set, just in time for The Little Mermaid's 30th anniversary.

If, like me, you know what a dinglehopper is without having to Google it, you may be reacting much like I did when I heard about this set: with a combination of joy and confusion. Although these fork-shaped makeup brushes are adorable, any Little Mermaid scholar worth their sea salt can tell you that "Humans use these little babies to straighten their hair out." So I feel like there was a missed opportunity to create dinglehopper hairbrushes. But it's OK — the cuteness of these tools makes that oversight totally forgivable.

"This set of four beauty utensils (get it?) includes one powder brush, two eye shadow brushes, and one lip brush," the Hot Topic website reads. Each silver brush is adorned with little pearls, shells, and starfish in red, turquoise, and white; the words "Gadgets and Gizmos" — a reference to "Part of Your World" lyrics — is engraved on the handle; on one end are gradient purple bristles and on the other, of course, are three-prong "forks."

PopSugar reports that the $27 Her Universe brush quartet is selling fast, with nearly 200 sets being ordered on Thursday alone. And considering the code HT20 currently gets you a 20-percent discount, there's even more motivation to add the Dinglehopper Makeup Brush Set to your vanity — or your undersea cave of random stuff.
