The list of Olaplex enthusiasts is nearly a mile long and it's filled with colorists, celebrities, and everyday fans of not having one's hair break off when it's being bleached. No. 1 Bond Multiplier and No. 2 Bond Perfector are applied at the salon during and after the lightening and coloring process to maintain hair's integrity, allowing stylists to make bigger changes to their clients' color with smaller amounts of damage. In addition to the professional formulas, Olaplex has become a household name, thanks in part to household products: a shampoo, conditioner, and "Hair Perfector" treatment. And now, the brand is launching its fourth at-home product.
"💥It’s official! 💥We are excited to announce our newest product: Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother," the Olaplex Instagram account announced with a photo of the bottle. According to the caption this new formula is a "leave-in reparative styling cream that eliminates frizz, hydrates, and protects." Information sent to Allure by Olaplex also indicates that with a very small amount of product, No. 6 promises to strengthen and moisturize, speed up blow-drying time, and control flyaways for up to 72 hours.
It appears that the main difference between No. 6 Bond Smoother and the existing at-home treatment, No. 3 Hair Perfector, is that it's a leave-in formula that's just as much a styling product as it is a treatment; Hair Perfector is made to be applied a couple of times a week for up to 10 minutes and then rinsed out. And when a fan on Instagram asked if No. 6 Bond Smoother is made to replace the No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner, the reply was, "No. 6 will be a leave-in treatment that you can style with! No need to replace, just use in conjunction!"

Other fans, both stylists and consumers, have expressed unbridled excitement about the launch. One Instagram commenter wrote, "OMGGG A LEAVE IN FINALLLYYY !!! I’m SOOOOOOO excited for this !!!!!!!! IVE BEEN LEAVING NO.3 in my hair cause I just love it 🙏🏼😫😝." Others had a feeling a product like this would be coming soon, with one person writing, "I knew this was next!!! So excited!!!❤️❤️❤️"
Olaplex states in the caption that No. 6 Bond Smoother will be available on olaplex.com March 4 and at other U.S. distributors on March 5, but the brand has assured international fans that the new product will be launching worldwide "soon."
