With Pokémon: Detective Pikachu released in May, we are starting to see more trailers for the film and the latest is rather adorable.
While short in duration, we get to see one of the Bulbasaurs up close (shown above) and a very brief shot of Lickitung doing what it does best.
Admittedly, the latter is unsettling most of the internet at present but it’s clear that this movie is going to hit all the right spots for Pokémon fans.
What’s more, we know that a follow-on movie has already been greenlit for production before this one is even out. That means we hopefully have something very special to look forward to in May.
Of all the major movies based on Japanese properties, I still feel that Pokémon: Detective Pikachu has the best chance of being decent.
The mixture of live-action and CG characters seems to work here as the CG parts have been undertaken with more care.
Compare that to the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie and its bizarre rendition of Sonic, that even has the original creators of the games somewhat mystified.
In any case, we will know for sure if Pokémon: Detective Pikachu measures up to our expectations when it is released on May 10.
