Watch out, Martha Stewart — it looks like you might not be Snoop Dogg's only adorably unexpected sidekick. YouTube beauty vlogger and recently appointed Marc Jacobs Beauty global artistry adviser Nikkie de Jager, more commonly known as NikkieTutorials, posted a new video on April 20 (wink wink) that makes a strong case for the rapper to consider a side career as her official makeup-tutorial narrator.

"So back when I said I was gonna team up with Marc Jacobs Beauty as their global artistry adviser, I warned you that I was about to do some very special projects with them,” Nikkie says at the start of the video, telling viewers that she’ll be creating a full-coverage look with a couple of the brand’s new products, Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick and Accomplice Instant Blurring Powder. “And since they’re called Accomplice, I need an accomplice to help me out a bit.” That’s when Snoop’s unmistakable, buttery voice chimes in.

“First things first, we gotta clip that hair up, you understand me? Clip the hair to get the hair out of the way so she can get those edges together when she start popping that makeup,” he explains as Nikkie clips a couple of loose pieces of hair out of the way. She then begins applying primer, or as Snoop calls it, “the roots.”

As Nikkie starts applying foundation, we’re treated to an inset shot of Snoop wearing what appears to be a white bathrobe, standing at the mic in a smoky (of course) studio. She then introduces the Accomplice Concealer, and Snoop advises her to “go up under the eye with it,” “get that forehead,” and “get that chin ball.”

After some contouring, Nikkie brings out the Accomplice powder, and Snoop starts getting a little bossy about technique. “Lightly up under the eyes. Lightly, Nikkie, lightly,” he urges. And he can’t help but express his appreciation for the product’s design. “Notice how her face structure is so profoundly correct with the brush. It just fits the brush properly, as if the brush was made for her face.”

But it’s not just the brush Snoop is impressed with. As Nikkie begins applying eye shadow to her crease, he gushes, “See how that flavor go? It’s looking like a work of art right now. Nikkie, you looking like a work of art right now, girl. Go ahead now. I’m loving this. This is like a painting by Picasso.”

After applying a wing of black liquid liner, Nikkie’s audio cuts back in, letting her inform Snoop that she’s going to "smoke it out" with some shadow. “I’ll join you,” he says, clarifying, “What she means by ’smoke it out’ is not what I’m doing right now.”

Although Snoop is loving the look, he gets a little squicked out when she starts lining her water line with a pale pink pencil. “Now that’s the part I don’t like, this part right here when you gotta get, like, deep under the eyelid,” he says. “That’s sensitive for me.”

His enthusiasm is back full-throttle for Nikkie’s highlighter application, though. “Highlight!” he shouts, blunt visibly in hand. “This is when she sprinkles that highlight on so that way, from a distance, it looks like she got glare or glitter on her face, like a real star.”

Once Nikkie wraps up the look with some lip gloss, she reveals the before-and-after, inspiring Snoop to say, “Oh, wow. Amazing. Straight up, you did that. I’m astonished; I’m proud; I’m happy to be a part of it. When you close your eyes, you look like a butterfly. It’s beautiful.”

He’s not wrong. To see how the whole look came together — and of course, to enjoy all nine minutes of Snoop Dogg’s commentary — you can watch the video below.
