NFL mock draft: Round 2, Part 1

A look at the first half of our POD Community Mock’s second round.

The first round of the Pride of Detroit Community Mock is complete. The Detroit Lions grabbed Montez Sweat with the eighth overall pick thanks to Kent Lee Platte’s selection. Elsewhere, we saw T.J. Hockenson slide to the Packers (and SJLionFan609) at the 12th pick, Brian Burns drop all the way to the Panthers (and BigJShaky) at 16, and other popular players like Greedy Williams (17) and Byron Murphy (27) fell a little lower than some expect.

But now begins the second round. We’ll move swiftly now, as the commenter general managers are just responsible for the pick, no write-up. We’ll release the picks about 10 at a time, giving you the opportunity to evaluate each of the selections.

Here’s a look at Picks 33 through 42.

33 Arizona Cardinals - WR Parris Campbell
34 Indianapolis Colts - CB Amani Oruwariye
35 Oakland Raiders - DE Chase Winovich
36 San Francisco 49ers - WR Hakeem Butler
37 New York Giants - DE Zach Allen
38 Jacksonville Jaguars - WR Deebo Samuel
39 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - LB Blake Cashman
40 Buffalo Bills - OT Kaleb McGary
41 Denver Broncos - G Dalton Risner
42 Cincinnati Bengals - OT Greg Little

The Detroit Lions are now on the clock. With defensive end off their needs list, who should Kent target in the second round? We just had a run of offensive linemen and wide receivers, two potential positional targets with the 43rd pick. Is there a cornerback still on the board worth considering? Tight end? Another offensive lineman or wide receiver?

We’ll see who Kent chose Monday morning.
