The Mets’ ace, Jacob deGrom, remained on track for his next start after a magnetic resonance imaging test Monday on his right elbow showed no damage.

“No problems whatsoever,” General Manager Brodie Van Wagenen said before the Mets defeated the Phillies, 5-1, at Citi Field. “We got the answers we were hoping for,” Van Wagenen added later.

DeGrom, the reigning Cy Young Award winner in the National League, threw a 30-pitch bullpen session on Monday. He is lined up to come off the injured list and start Friday, in the opener of a weekend series against the Milwaukee Brewers at Citi Field.

DeGrom reported soreness last week, and the Mets put him on the injured list while the team was in St. Louis. The move followed two shaky starts by deGrom, leaving him at 2-2 with a 3.68 earned run average.

DeGrom and the club said his elbow trouble was probably a result of altering his routine during a recent bout of strep throat.

Monday’s game started more than an hour and a half late because of rain. Starter Steven Matz went six innings, allowing three hits, one of them a homer to Rhys Hoskins, and two walks while getting six strikeouts.

Jeff McNeil hit his first home run of the season and the fourth of his major league career — a solo shot off Phillies starter Jake Arrieta. Pete Alonso doubled in a run in the third inning and was hit by a Juan Nicasio pitch with the bases loaded in the seventh to bring home another run.

In a bizarre circumstance, the Phillies’ Bryce Harper was tossed with two outs in the fourth. After a questionable called strike to Cesar Hernandez, who had two of the Phillies’ three hits, the plate umpire Mark Carlson motioned to the dugout and ejected Harper for arguing balls and strikes.

Harper had reached base in all of his previous 21 games as a Phillie before going 0-for-2 Monday with two strikeouts and being ejected.

The Mets made a series of roster moves before the game. Third baseman Todd Frazier was activated from the injured list and made his season debut after recovering from a strained left oblique. He went 1 for 4 and struck out twice. The left-hander Justin Wilson was put on the injured list with elbow soreness, the right-hander Paul Sewald was sent to Class AAA Syracuse, and infielder Luis Guillorme was called up from the minors.

Also, second baseman Robinson Cano was out of the starting lineup a day after being hit in the right hand by a pitch, and shortstop Amed Rosario was out with flu-like symptoms.
