RLJE Films has nabbed the U.S. rights to the Nicolas Cage-starring action-thriller A Score to Settle, which will be shopped in Cannes by Highland Film Group.
RLJE and Cage are reuniting after teaming up on another horror thriller, Mandy, from writer-director Panos Cosmatos and also starring Andrea Riseborough and Linus Roache, which bowed at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
RLJE Films plans a theatrical release for A Score to Settle from Aug. 2; Benjamin Bratt, Noah Le Gros and Mohamed Karim also are starring in the revenge thriller. Written by John Newman and directed by Shawn Ku, the film has Cage playing a former mob enforcer released from prison and seeking revenge against those who had him wrongfully convicted.
A Score to Settle is produced by Eric Gozlan, Kevin DeWalt and Danielle Masters. “Following the success of Mandy, we cannot wait to take audiences on another adventure,” Mark Ward, chief acquisitions officer for RLJE Films, said in a statement.
Ward and Jess De Leo from RLJE Films and Arianne Fraser and Alana Crow from Highland Film Group negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers.
Highland Film Group is also handling international sales.
