After not having official representatives at this year’s Australian Open and Roland Garros, Stella McCartney is back in full force, clothing all women’s and men’s representatives at Wimbledon 2019. Adidas has released promo imagery with defending champion Angelique Kerber, 2017 winner Garbine Muguruza, and Caroline Wozniacki.

The new aSMC line is defined by laser perforations and red accents, similar to Fila’s orange pops of color on Ashleigh Barty’s kit. Interestingly, Adidas players paired the outfits with these solid red SoleCourt Boost shoes, but I doubt the tournament officials will give them the green light to wear them, they must switch to white shoes.

Just like Adidas’ Melbourne collection, these new whites are created from recycled plastic.

Muguruza’s Adidas Fall Stella McCartney Seamless Tank is dominated by generous holes, while the Adidas Fall Stella McCartney Skirt is a clean white design with contrast tipping.

For the photoshoot, Muguruza’s makeup artist opted for futuristic asymmetrical red eye shadow, while her hair stylist completed the look with braids.

Commenting on the collection, the Spaniard focused on its eco-friendly aspect:

I love being outside; breathing, and just feeling the sun and the air. I believe that the better the environment it is around us, the better we feel.

Newlywed Wozniacki is finally back to dresses, her first dress since last year’s Wimbledon. The Dane is happy to help preserve the nature with the Adidas Fall Stella McCartney Dress:

I definitely think it’s very important to protect the environment and the planet — the impact is present in every aspect of our lives, including sport.

  1. My favorite ones are Muguruza’s and Caroline’s…and I have a question pls do you know if Stella is really back to design tennis outfits for Grand Slams or it’s just an exception for this year’s Wimbledon?

  2. Stella has regularly designed with Adidas for Caro and Garbine during Grand Slams, so not just Wimbledon.

Garbine’s is my favorite of the 3.

  3. JP you didn’t get me, Stella didn’t design anything for AO and French Open this year so a lot of ppl said that she stopped designing tennis outfits for Grand Slams.

  4. Will Wimbledon even allow that thin orange trim on the outfits? In the past, preview images have shown tiny bits of trim color but by the time it shows up at Wimbledon it’s completely gone.

  5. Melxir, I don’t have official information. Stella was only briefly away, as you noted, so I suppose she’ll continue to design for Grand Slams in the future.

Tennisdresses, good question. I was also thinking about it. For example, look, I don’t think that Kerber’s top meets these restrictions:

“A single trim of color around the neckline and around the cuff of the sleeves is acceptable but must be no wider than one centimeter (10mm).” Kerber’s red accents are not wider than 1 cm but they are not in the indicated positions.

The red shoes definitely don’t meet the requirements: “Shoes must be almost entirely white. Soles and laces must be completely white. Large manufacturers’ logos are not encouraged.”

  6. I love the designs. I saw the promo trailer and it was amazing! I hope they use a different accent next time as I already previously saw an almost similar color before.
