To stave off the boredom of the offseason, we’ve got a BIG PODcast episode this week. It’s the return of LISTCAST, and you aren’t going to want to miss our first episode.

If you’re new to LISTCAST, our PODcast crew simply ranks the top players in the NFL at each position going into the 2019 season. These rankings are based on pure talent alone and are not to be read as predictions for their outputs for the upcoming season.

To kick things off, we start with the Detroit Lions’ favorite position: tight ends. But the format is a little different this year. Rather than reading everyone’s individual top-10 list, we’ve created a master list, combining the results from all of our choices. Don’t worry, if you’re still interested in the separate lists, we’ll be providing them here. Our individual top 10 TE lists are available to read here.

And we don’t stop there. Our Way Back Machine takes us to the glorious Lions-Dolphins game of 2018. Were we fools to believe in this team? Did we ignore any warning signs? Is this what the future Lions will look like? We tackle it all on this week’s episode.

This week on the PODcast:

  • The Lions have interest in Domata Peko. Is it real or are they just posturing for Damon Harrison Sr. negotiations? Due diligence or dirty tricks? Is Peko worth signing anyways?
  • Lions vs. Dolphins Way Back Machine. How were the Lions able to win so convincingly on the road? Were the Dolphins just a lot worse than we thought? Was this simply the Lions playing at their peak last year? WHY WEREN’T THEY EVER THIS GOOD AGAIN?
  • Top 10 TE listcast. Does T.J. Hockenson make anyone’s list? Who is No. 1? Young guns vs. proven veterans.
  • Mailbag talks Lions pessimism, “Hard Knocks” vs. “All or Nothing,” and favorite summer outdoor activities.
