The Detroit Pistons released their full season schedule Friday, with the season kicking off at Indiana on Wednesday, Oct. 23 and a home opener on Thursday against the Atlanta Hawks. Here are some instant observations.

The Going Gets Tough
The Pistons also need to pile up wins in a hurry as, per Rod Beard in the Detroit News, the team has the easiest schedule before the All-Star break and the hardest one after.
Road Woes
Beginning Feb. 23, it seems like the Pistons will be on the road for pretty much the rest of the season, and the home slate is no respite. Detroit plays 14 road games and their home opponents are Oklahoma City, Uta, Orlando, Golden State, Lakers, Portland, Clippers, Houston, Heat, Celtics.
Christmas Break
The Pistons have a little reason for Christmas cheer as they are lucky enough to have five home games and one quick trip to Boston from Dec. 16 to Dec. 26. That means players will largely get to be home for the holidays and spend a little more time with family.
New Year Swing
Of course, immediately following that will embark on a six-game road trip, including a brutal trip out West against San Antonio, Utah, Clippers, Golden State and Lakers before limping into Cleveland hoping to salvage something.
