The Detroit Lions finally found the end zone in the 2019 preseason, but it did not come from a place you would expect. Rookie safety Will Harris turned out to be the first Lions to reach the end zone this year, after he picked up a fumble and took it back 19 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter of Detroit’s Week 2 match up against the Houston Texans.

Texans quarterback Joe Webb threw a quick pass out to receiver Steven Mitchell. Rookie cornerback Amani Oruwariye was right there to wrap him up, then defensive end Romeo Okwara tackled the receiver from behind, punching out the ball in the process. Harris was the first player to react, and he quickly scooped it up and trotted into the end zone for a touchdown.

The play tied the game up at 10 midway through the second quarter, and was a real momentum changer for a Lions team that was having trouble getting going up to that point.
